Section 1: Context   (approx. 300 words) Units 1 and 2 provided me with the research knowledge of the creative sectors and businesses in the creative industry. I researched video production companies in the UK and globally to get a better understanding of the real-life applications of the legal and business facts. The units helped me to understand how video production services fit into the industry and what customers want from the market.  I originally wanted to conduct a video production company that purely produced creative, artistic films and music videos but through my research, I quickly realized that the market has more gaps and customer opportunities for corporate videos and promotional videos for businesses. Most of the customer base are middle aged and have an established career.   Geographical Location Local customer base- Norfolk/ Suffolk.   Occupations Most customers are of managerial positions or self-employed, they have most of the power in their own business and therefore seek video production and products to use for their company. Income bracket Most employees have income over £35k annually which is explained by their stage in their career.   Common leisure interest Most customers enjoy travelling and exploring other cultures as well as enjoying nightlife.  Market research Primary research - surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, observation, test marketing. Secondary research - market research group, gathering existing information, government statistics. PRIMARY . Surveys could have a more general audience whilst focus groups may require people in power of a business/ organisation. For example, EN Sports tutors, staff who run social media for organisations, self-employed people, students with portfolios.
