Research into portfolio head shots

One photo of the filmmaker is featured on their website under the ‘About’ tab.The solo shot features a black and white photograph of the filmmaker looking down whilst sitting on rocks. The composition places the filmmaker in the centre of the image and the has a shallow depth of field as the background is out of focus. This draws more attention to the filmmaker in the portrait photo.
The photo represents the director as professional, simple and sophisticated due to the simple photo in black and white. There is no noticeable editing or props in the photo.
This simple photograph gives some information on the artists without taking focus away from their art or portfolio.

The website portfolio for this camera director displays two images of them, the first shows them holding a camera and partaking in their work. The composition centres him and the camera making them the focus of the photo.
The photo also has black vignetting editing around the edges, further displaying him as the focus of the image.
The second image isn’t a solo portrait and shows him working with other people. This again displays him whilst working and exhibits him during the process of creating the videos. This image is in deep focus, showing details from every part of the scene which doesn’t focus in on the filmmaker. Photos depicting them whilst working creates a genuine style to the portfolio and

The image of this producer is shown on the ‘about’ page of their website, presenting a photograph ofthem in black and white holding a camera. There is a shallow depth of field as the producer is in focus with the camera and the lighting spotlights the producer. The lighting and composition illustrate them as the focus of the image.
This image also shows him holding a camera, showing him creating his work and giving authenticity and passion to his portfolio.

The headshot of this photographer shows her laughing in front of a wall, this is a well-lit colour photo. The composition of her in the centre gives a clean and focused style to her portfolio.
There is also vignetting on this portrait, displaying a professional editing of the photo and making the artists the focal point of the photo, representing her in a positive way.
I aim for my headshot to look professional and have a minimalist, natural background. I may edit the photo to make it black and white to see if I prefer colour or monochrome. I will be centre on the photo and looking at the camera.
